This was a great hike. It starts off at a parking lot and quickly gets into a wooded area, with in 10 minutes you can no longer hear the traffic.
Just before the climb up the hill is a small rest area with picnic tables and a porta-potty. Ascending the hill is fairly quick, it is well switchbacked.
However once you near the top you come upon the pump station, which is quite loud and disrupts the scenery.
Lake Ramona is very serene, I am unsure if swimming is allowed but many others were already in the water when we arrived.
We soaked our feet in the lake, relaxed a little and headed back, this is a wonderful quick afternoon hike. Just make sure to bring water as it can get quite hot out there.
