Directions: Exit Interstate 8 at In-Ko-Pah Park Road, just east of Jacumba.
Drive southwest .2 miles along the frontage road, Old Highway 80, and then turn left on the dirt road to the left. Proceed .8 miles up this road and park at the large turn out. This is the assumed start point of the hike.
From the parking area, walk up the road to a saddle at 3830 feet. A 4-wheel drive road branches off to hte left to Smugglers Cave.
Proceed another .1 miles south and stay left. By staying on the main path, you’ll travel southeast tothe base of a peaklet dubbed “Tahe” (which contains an abandoned amethyst mine) and veer east into Valley of the Moon.

Very cool hike. Do you happen to have the coords of the noted trail head and forks? If you do bring a GPSr with you the gpx file for some of these more remote hikes would be awesome if available. Thanks for the site!
