This was a fantastic trip. After a quick hike into the mountains, we set up camp and day packed Alta Mountain

You wouldn’t know it from the elevation profile, but it was fairly steep at times. I was happy we day packed the last few miles up the peak.

We took the Lakes Trail to Mehrten Meadow and dropped camp, it’s about 9,000 feet and headaches and other various mild altitude issues are cropping up.
The following day we ascended Alta Mountain (11,276 feet). Altitude sickness got the better of me at times, but we all made it up and down the trail safely (Wally’s shoes fell apart like 20 steps off the Summit heading back down).

With just a few small incidents along the way, this trip was one memorable one, I don’t think I’ll ever forget it!
